About Us

Christian Youth Camps began in Scotland in the late 1940s. The earliest ones were the Fife Camp and the Aberdeen Camp, both starting at about the same time, and continuing until today. Tayside Christian Youth Camps began in 1982, under the leadership of Arthur Pollard who continued to organise and oversee them until God called him to heaven in 2007. The running of TCYC is now in the hands of a small group of younger people, all active members of assemblies of Christians who meet in Gospel Halls in different parts of the UK.

The purpose of the camp is not only to provide a holiday for young people at great value, but also to teach basic Bible truths. For over thirty years now TCYC has held these camps and seen many young people dedicate their lives to Christ. In fact, many of the leaders you will see and meet were themselves campers at one point and have a desire to tell others of Christ in the same way they were told.

Tayside Christian Youth Camp’s primary aim is to offer young people a good and safe holiday in a loving and caring Christian environment.

We will achieve this through:

  • Presenting the claims of the Lord Jesus through our lives and teaching
  • Seeing young people saved, baptised and becoming actively involved in a local fellowship
  • Giving God the glory for all that is achieved

To fulfil these aims we will provide:

  • Good organisation and leadership
  • A safe, healthy environment
  • Structured programmes
  • A Christian atmosphere
  • Bible-based teaching and spiritual activities
  • Good communications and incentives
  • Good follow up

We seek to promote:

  • The centrality of Christ and His work
  • The necessity of prayer
  • The importance of love
  • Judgement of sin
  • Consecration of life
